Manager & Coach Requirements

Manager & Locker Room Attendant Requirements:  (for off-ice activities ONLY, may not skate or Coach)  (Before first practice)
1.) USA Hockey Registration as a Manager/Volunteer - see www.wyha.com/registerteamstaff  for instructions (EVERY SEASON)
2.) WYHA Registration as Manager/Volunteer - see www.wyha.com/registerteamstaff for instructions  (EVERY SEASON)
3.) NYSAHA Screening   (EVERY OTHER SEASON - for 2017-18, screened after April 1, 2016)    Forward screening results email to REGISTRAR at registrar@wyha.com if screened after 4/1/2017.  Email MUST have NAME, CONFIRMATION # and DATE.  See below for an example email.
4.) SafeSport Training   (EVERY OTHER SEASON - for 2017-18, screened after April 1, 2016)

Coaching Requirements (for Head & Assistant Coaches & On Ice Helpers aged 18 or older):  
Note: Coaches may also serve as Managers without dual registering.
1.) USA Hockey Registration as a Coach - see www.wyha.com/registerteamstaff  for instructions (before first practice)      (EVERY SEASON)
2.) WYHA Registration as Coach - see www.wyha.com/registerteamstaff for instructions  (before first practice)     (EVERY SEASON)
3.) NYSAHA Screening (before first practice)   (EVERY OTHER SEASON - for 2017-18, screened after April 1, 2016)  Forward Screening Results email to REGISTRAR at registrar@wyha.com if screened after 4/1/2017.  Email MUST have NAME, CONFIRMATION # and DATE.  See below for an example.
4.) SafeSport Training (before first practice)   (EVERY OTHER SEASON - for 2017-18, screened after April 1, 2016)
5.) Coaching Certification - attend USA Hockey Certification Clinic (Register Before 1st Practice: send receipt for registration for clinic or online Level 3 recert to Registrar at registrar@wyha.com    clinics typically held in Oct, Nov or Dec)   Current Certification Required for HC/AC.  Current/expired coaching certificate (any level) recommended for On Ice Helpers.  Mite/RWB/U8 & U6 Coaches (head & Assistant) MUST have a current or expired coaching certificate.
6.) Age Specific Online Module Training for division coaching in (complete before 1st practice)   Required for HC/AC, Recommended for On Ice Helpers    (Age Specific Modules do NOT expire!)

SafeSport Training:  Go to USA Hockey SafeSport Page.  Complete before 1st practice.  Expires after two seasons.  Refresher Training (i.e. shorter) taken after initial course expires.  If you do not remember when this was last completed, please look at the NYS Screening List located at: NYS Screening & SafeSport Webpage  
NOTE 1:  Do NOT select "Other"  or "US Olympic/National/Development Team" for any SafeSport registration questions.  The correct answer is "USA Hockey" or "Webster Youth Hockey" depending on the context of the question!

NYSAHA Screening  Screening Link  Complete before 1st practice   Screening expires after current and next season.  If last completed during 2015-16 season (or earlier), you must re-screen before 1st practice.  If you do not remember when this was last completed, please look at the NYS Screening List located at: NYS Screening & SafeSport Webpage   Please FORWARD your Screening Results email to registrar@wyha.com if you screened since 4/1/2017.  Proof must be submitted in order to roster team staff.  Email MUST have NAME, CONFIRMATION # and DATE.  See below for an example email.

Forward to registrar@wyha.com as proof Team Staff have completed screening since April 1, 2017.  Team Staff who completed screening from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017 do NOT need to re-screen and this status should already be on their USA Hockey Credentials Record!
