NEW (but familar) Apparel Vendor for Webster Youth Hockey

Please welcome back Susan Fulton and Official's Wearhouse as our official clothing/apparel vendor!

Hi All,

Officials Wearhouse will be your apparel provider for the rest of this season. I will not be carrying a full array of items as we are so late in the season but I do have several items available for purchase. The hoodies, hats, and bags are stocked items and will be available for immediate delivery. That being said we are now located in Sodus and I do not see coming to Webster on a daily basis as a possibility so you will have two options. You can pick shipping and we will send your items which will arrive in one or two business days or you can pick the PICK UP SODUS option and I will call to make arrangements with customers individually. The garment bags, pants, and both jackets available are not pre-made and as they are embroidered items they will have a two week turn around from the date that they are ordered as we used to do when we owned the pro shop. If you have any questions regarding the available items please do not hesitate to contact me at officialswearhouse260@gmail.com
The items are all in production right now and the first items that are ordered from the ones we are stocking will not be available for delivery until Tuesday, January 22nd. There is currently no image on the website for the bag but it will be exactly the same as the Cyclones Bag we have carried for the last 7 years. My apologies for this but I have not been able to get my computer to download the artwork for the bag.

I look forward to working with all of you again.

Thank You,
Susan Fulton

The PCX Difference

PCX Training Facillity Announcement OPENING on 1/22/2018

Good morning Cyclones:

On behalf of the Officers & Directors of Webster Youth Hockey, we are very pleased to announce a long-term agreement made today between WYHA and the principals of PCX Sports Performance. We are incredibly excited about this partnership and welcome Todd, Jon and the team at PCX to the Cyclone family. We will be working with the group at the newly formed PCX Sports Performance at the Cyclone Center.  I would like to thank all the WYHA volunteers, coaches, officers, directors and committee members who helped make this possible.

We are planning an initial soft opening of the facility on Friday January 22nd. The center is 2,400 sq. ft. of space located at the Webster Ice Arena and will be dedicated to off-ice training, run by the professional trainers & instructors from PCX Sports Performance. As an organization we felt it was imperative we bring this training to our kids to further enhance their hockey experience. The team at PCX brings a philosophy & mindset that parallels WYHA & USA Hockey’s core values and will apply those to our kids in this new facility. PCX trainers & coaches have worked with young athletes who've gone on to play at the high school, collegiate and professional level and will bring that knowledge and expertise to our kids here at WYHA.

So, please join us in welcoming Todd, Jon and PCX to the Cyclone family. Here's to many years of fantastic training for our kids.

Thanks,
R. Reed Yancey, President of WYHA

USA Hockey 2 + 2 Challenge Award for 8 & Under Participation

Webster Youth Hockey is pleased to announce we have achieved USA Hockey GOLD status for our performance on the 2+2 Challenge for the second season in a row (only 5 orgs in NY achieved GOLD level for 2016-17). WYHA has chosen to focus on recruiting NEW players to hockey via our successful Beginner Program and putting development programs in place so we will continue to have competitive teams at the Tier II Travel, Girls and House levels for many years to come.

The USA Hockey 2+2 Challenge rewards organizations who grow their U8 enrollment, Girls programs and achieve retention goals.  Participation in the USA Hockey Try Hockey for Free program, Beginner incentive efforts, Girls recruitment and our Welcome Back to Hockey retention program early in the season are all part of our successful efforts to grow WYHA along with our new off ice facility (page down for info) opening in the 2017-18 season!

Coaches (and Team Staff) - Why do I have to do this Training?

The following was borrowed from a recent Amateur Hockey Association Illinois (AHAI) newsletter:

"USA Hockey and the Coaching Education Program (CEP) require: USA Hockey Registration, Screening, SafeSport Training, Age Specific Module completion and the appropriate Level CEP clinic to be eligible to coach. Why?

The answer is rather simple; the kids deserve it. What do I mean by that? As parents, you turn your children over to their coaches for several hours a week. After parents and teachers, your kids spend more time with coaches than probably anyone else during the season. USA Hockey and AHAI want that experience to be the best and safest it can be. Only properly educated coaches can help in the development of your skaters both on and off the ice. Coaches have a massive responsibility. Most of us remember our coaches; both the good and the bad. The effect they have on players can be immense and with that comes great responsibility.
  • Coaching Education Program (CEP) Online Age-Specific Requirements (Must be completed PRIOR to participating in any team activities and cannot be added to a roster until completed)
  • USA Hockey Requirements: Register as a member of USA Hockey, complete background screening and complete USAH SafeSport Training (Must be completed PRIOR to participating in any team activities and cannot be added to a roster until completed)
